Every wallet with room for twelve cards ends up a brick in your pocket. The Alban does not: it splits them between both sides and an inner flap that lifts, and closes at 2 centimetres. It is the piece of leather you open most in a day \u2014 fifteen, twenty times \u2014 and it is built for that.<\/p>\n
Argentine cowhide with a smooth finish, worked in our workshop. The inside is leather as well, not fabric: that is the difference you notice two years in, when the synthetic lining of other wallets has already come away from the slots. Open it and you see the natural veining of the hide, which is not a flaw but the sign that the leather was not corrected to hide it.<\/p>\n
Bifold format. Open it and there are four card slots on each side; the inner flap lifts to reveal four more, which is how it reaches twelve without adding thickness. Behind them, two full-length bill compartments, and two flat pockets for what is neither card nor note: a ticket, a flat key. The perimeter stitching runs in the same tone as the leather and the edges are sealed.<\/p>\n
11 cm wide, 9 cm high and 2 cm thick, 150 grams. It sits in a back trouser pocket or an inside jacket pocket without showing. Twelve slots cover the bank cards, ID, insurance card and the loyalty cards you collect without meaning to.<\/p>\n
