The Detroit follows one rule: the flap is never the same as the body. It can be the same tone in another texture, or three different leathers combined — either way, the flap is what does the work.
The leather
Argentine cowhide worked in Buenos Aires. The body comes grained or smooth depending on the version. The flap always carries an embossed cowhide, with a scale or basket-weave relief — it is the same leather throughout, with the pattern pressed into the hide; no exotic-species leathers are used. Some versions combine up to three leathers in different tones across body, sides and flap.
The build
Structured hobo shape: wide curved base with an arched profile. The flap covers most of the front and folds down over the body. Arched leather top handle, fixed to the body. Adjustable detachable strap with a snap hook. On the two-tone versions the handle follows the combination. Silver hardware.
In use
28 cm wide, 20 cm high and 10 cm deep, 450 grams. A mid-size format: it takes the day's things without the bag losing shape or the line of the arch. It goes over the shoulder by the handle, or crossbody on the strap when you need your hands free.
The single-tone version is the discreet one. The three-leather versions read from across a room, which is exactly what they are for.
