Keychains

Keychains in Argentine cowhide, braided by hand in Buenos Aires. A short strap with a swivel snap hook and a split ring: the keys go on the ring, and the hook clips the strap wherever you want it.

It is one of those objects you use constantly and think about never. It leaves your pocket and goes back dozens of times a day, so the leather ages quickly and visibly: the braid softens and settles into the way you hold it. Hanging from a belt loop or a bag handle, keys stop turning up at the bottom of the bag once you no longer need them.

A small object is where leather shows best, because it is always in your hand.
