The leather
Argentine cowhide worked in Buenos Aires. Depending on the version the finish runs from grained to smooth with a soft fall — either way, full-bodied leather that takes hard use and improves with time.
The build
It opens like a book. The right-hand panel carries the metal clip at the top: wide, with a firm spring, holding well even when the pad is thick with paper. The left-hand panel organises reference material — a diagonally cut pocket for loose sheets, two slots for cards and documents, and a lower slot for extra pages. Casa Lopez logo embossed on the cover.
In use
22 cm wide, 29 cm high and 2 cm thick, 500 grams. For taking notes in a meeting without losing the page. For the field, the site, the classroom, the interview — anywhere you have to write resting on something that is not a table. The cover closes and protects whatever you left inside.
