The bucket is an old shape that few get right, because it so easily ends up a sack. Here the panels solve it: the body is built from segments that widen towards the top, and that is what keeps it standing. The mouth opens; the base does not.
The leather
It is the same Argentine cowhide in three finishes. Smooth, with the grain in view. Embossed, with the relief pressed into it. And flowered, the pattern drawn from the hide itself. It is lined in leather, not fabric: inside is the same material as outside, and you notice it the moment you open it.
How it is made
A segmented body on a reinforced oval base, which is what gives it its poise. It closes at the top with a zip, and the strap is round leather cord, long, for the shoulder or across the body. In some combinations the base and the strap are a different tone from the body; in others, everything matches.
Living with it
18 cm wide, 16 tall and 6 deep, and 350 grams empty. This is a bag for going out, not for carrying the whole day: a phone, a wallet, keys and glasses. Those 6 cm of depth keep it narrow against the body, which is what you want from a crossbody.
It opens at the top and stands on its own.
