It does not stand on its own, and that is the point. This is a soft bag: it flattens against the body when empty and widens when you fill it. Those 33 cm of width give it room without bulk.
The leather
Smooth, softly tanned Argentine cowhide — no frame, no reinforcement, so the leather does all the work. It softens further over the weeks and takes the fold of however you carry it.
How it is made
The mouth is gathered by two leather cords threaded through eyelets and finished in metal spheres: pull them and the mouth draws together, release them and it opens wide. The handles are slim and rounded, the right length for the hand or the shoulder. Inside, a zipped pocket of 14 × 8 and a key leash, which spares you the usual digging around the bottom.
Living with it
33 cm wide by 20 tall and 5 deep, 450 grams empty. It is the widest in the range and the only soft one: if you want a bag that stands up on a table, the Cartagena and the Moreno are structured.
