The Jimmy closes differently. Where most briefcases open with a zip, the Jimmy has a leather flap covering the front and a metal turn lock at its centre — a closure that turns rather than pulls. The key hangs from the lock, as it should.
The leather
Cowhide worked in Buenos Aires. The body has enough structure to hold its shape full or empty. With use the flap settles, and the leather at the points of tension — lock, handle, corners — takes on a character that new leather doesn't have yet.
How it's made
A horizontal rectangular body with real depth. Full-width leather flap with a centred metal turn lock — the mechanism turns and locks; a key is included. A single flat handle on top, set with metal hardware. Horizontal zip pocket on the back. Adjustable strap with a snap hook, detachable at the side D-rings.
Living with it
It takes a laptop, an A4 folder and the essentials of a working day. The turn lock closes the compartment in one movement; the flap protects what's inside. The back pocket stays within reach without opening the case. The handle goes in your hand; the strap over the shoulder for longer stretches.
The Jimmy is the briefcase for whoever locks it. The leather does the rest.
