Twenty-three centimetres wide. That is the width of a boarding pass, of a passport laid lengthwise, of a note you do not have to fold. The Tebas is not a wallet for a trouser pocket: it is the one that goes in the bag when you have to travel with everything together and nothing loose.
The leather
Argentine cowhide. At this size the leather works differently: it does not fold in half like a small wallet, it opens out flat, so it has to take the flex of the closure without creasing along the fold. The edges are sealed and the stitch follows the whole outline.
How it is made
It shuts with a zip-around closure and a leather pull, so nothing falls out when you turn it over. Inside it opens into two leaves: four card slots and five sections for notes and documents, with room for pesos, dollars and euros at once. One leaf carries a clear window for your ID, readable without taking it out. And in the middle, a pen loop, for the form there is always to fill in before you get off the plane.
Living with it
23 cm wide by 13 tall and 2 thick, 300 grams. It is the widest wallet in the catalogue — the next one is 19 — and the only one with a pen loop. For everyday use it is a lot of wallet, though: the Rosie Wallet is the same thickness and half the width.
