Tall and narrow, not flat and wide. It opens like a notebook and the nine slots stack in a column: you see the edge of every one at the same time and pull out the one you want without rummaging.
The leather
Smooth Argentine cowhide with an even surface. On a tall piece the leather works in a single plane and any irregularity would show at once — which is why the sealed edge and the straight stitch along the fold are half the work. The monogram is blind embossed, without ink.
How it is made
It opens into two leaves. On the right, the nine card slots stepped from top to bottom. On the left, larger pockets. And behind, three sections for notes or documents, which the height lets you keep unfolded — with room for pesos, dollars and euros. Two more inner pockets for loose things.
Living with it
9 cm wide by 18 tall and 2 thick, 150 grams. The upright format stands in a handbag rather than lying at the bottom, which is the real difference from a wide wallet. If you prefer the classic shape, the Candy and the Rosie are 11 × 10 and come with a coin purse.
