The Alexandre is a dome-shaped travel bag that changes size. It has zips at its four corners: open, the bag takes its full depth for a weekend; closed, it shrinks and stops taking up space when it is empty or nearly so.
The leather
Cowhide with a natural grain and real body, holding the dome shape and softening at the handles with use. A leather band runs around the base and protects it when set down. Casa Lopez logo embossed on the front tab.
How it's made
A main zip that follows the arc of the dome and opens the bag from side to side, with a leather tab covering it at the front. Two tubular handles to carry it by hand and a 135 cm strap with a shoulder pad that clips onto the rings at the sides. Inside, an 18 × 17 cm zipped pocket for documents and small things. The four corner zips adjust the side gussets.
Living with it
43 cm wide, 34 high and 25 deep, 1.5 kilos. Fully open it takes clothes for two or three days, a wash bag and a pair of shoes. By hand with the two handles or on the shoulder with the strap; with the corner zips closed, it stores away without taking up room.
Big when it needs to be, small when it doesn't. The leather does the rest.
