This is a driving glove, and everything on it is there for that. The fingers are cut at half length so you lose no feel on the wheel or the gearstick. The back is perforated and has an opening, because hands sweat while driving. And the snap strap holds it at the wrist so it does not shift as you turn.
The leather
Fine sheep leather, the same as in the closed gloves of the line. On a driving glove the gauge matters the other way round to a warm one: the finer it is, the more you feel what you are holding.
How it's made
Half-finger, with all five fingers cut at the second knuckle. Four perforations over the knuckles and an opening on the back of the hand, both for ventilation. Leather strap with a snap at the wrist.
Choosing your size
For driving, and for whoever wants the glove on without losing the use of their fingers.
A glove size is the circumference of your palm in inches. Make a fist and wrap a tape measure around your hand at the knuckles, without the thumb. Then find your measurement in the table.
| Size | Palm circumference |
|---|---|
| 8 | 20.3 cm |
| 9 | 22.9 cm |
| 10 | 25.4 cm |
If you land between two sizes, take the smaller: sheep leather gives with wear and settles to the shape of your hand within a couple of weeks. The other way round does not work — a large glove will not shrink.
Leather where it grips, air where it does not need to be.
