A backpack in soft leather does not stand up on its own, and that is exactly the point. Empty, it lies flat against your back and adds no bulk; loaded, it takes the shape of whatever is inside. Thirty-four centimetres wide by thirteen deep is not a small bag: this is a full-day backpack, not one for a short outing.
The leather
Argentine cowhide with a visible grain and no internal structure holding it up. That is a decision, not a saving: stiff leather on a backpack creases along the folds and eventually breaks on the same line. This one moves with you. The edges are sealed and the seams follow the four panels of the body.
How it is made
It narrows towards the top and closes with a wide leather strap that crosses the front and catches on a turn-lock clasp: it opens with one hand, without hunting for a pull. A top handle lets you lift it off the floor or hang it up. The two shoulder straps adjust on buckles. There is a zipped outer pocket of 13 × 11 cm, a zipped inner pocket of 15 × 13, and a phone pocket.
Living with it
35 cm tall by 34 wide and 13 deep, 600 grams. A laptop fits, along with an A4 folder, a flask and a jacket. The zipped outer pocket is for what comes in and out all day — keys, travel card, glasses — without opening the front strap.
