The three lines on the back are not decoration: they are stitched points that gather the leather over the knuckles. Without them, a fine glove stretches there first and ends up baggy. With them, the hand closes and the leather returns to where it was.
The leather
Sheep leather with a smooth finish, among the finest that can be stitched. It is the one that lets you use your phone without taking it off and pick up a key without fumbling. In exchange it does not forgive rough treatment: this is a city glove, not a work glove.
How it's made
Classic three-point cut. A short cuff, exactly long enough to sit under a jacket sleeve without bulking the wrist. The finger seams run inside, so the profile stays clean from both sides.
Choosing your size
This is the glove for Buenos Aires weather: the kind that asks for something on your hands but not for snow gear.
A glove size is the circumference of your palm in inches. Make a fist and wrap a tape measure around your hand at the knuckles, without the thumb. Then find your measurement in the table.
| Size | Palm circumference |
|---|---|
| 6½ | 16.5 cm |
| 7 | 17.8 cm |
| 7½ | 19.0 cm |
| 8 | 20.3 cm |
| 8½ | 21.6 cm |
If you land between two sizes, take the smaller: sheep leather gives with wear and settles to the shape of your hand within a couple of weeks. The other way round does not work — a large glove will not shrink.
Fine by decision. The leather does the rest.
